FD_LAMPvett: Diagnostica tempestiva per il rilevamento del fitoplasma della Flavescenza Dorata della vite

The objective of the FD_LAMPvett project is to develop a rapid molecular LAMP technique for the early identification of the grapevine flavescence dorée (FD) phytoplasma. The developed LAMP technique will be compared with the LAMP protocols already identified for the detection of FD phytoplasma in infected grapevine plants. To evaluate the repeatability and reproducibility of the technique developed by different laboratories and operators, a fundamental aspect for the diagnosis of quarantine pathogens, ‘intra-laboratory’ and ‘inter-laboratory’ validations will be carried out, comparing already available and/or developed LAMP molecular assays. Furthermore, it…

Trasferimento di protocolli per organismi da quarantena e nocivi e per la selezione di materiali sanitariamente migliorati per il vivaismo pugliese(PRODIQUAVI)

The project aims to highlight agri-food productions through the protection of the territory from the introduction and spread of pathogens of economic and quarantine importance To achieve this goal, 4 activities (work packages) are planned: WP1-Coordination: aimed to implement effective administrative and financial management in achieving the expected objectives. WP2-Monitoring: aimed to controll the various project phases. WP3-Project research activities: Constitution and conservation of mother plants of economically relevant varieties/species (3.1); Phytosanitary analysis of Mediterranean germplasm of nursery interest by high throughput sequencing (3.2) Validation and transfer of innovative diagnostic…

Monitoraggio e gestione sostenibile di nematodi fitoparassiti su vite e mais (NemaGest – MBLab)

In the last decades, climate change contributes to further increase the economic damages caused by nematodes, both due to spreading of very harmful species such as root-knot nematodes (since mostly tropical species and well adapted to warmer environments), and the arrival of alien species not previously recorded in the area. With specific reference to the agricultural systems of the Lombardy region, crops currently, or potentially more exposed to nematode attacks seem to be corn and grapevine. Moreover, a careful monitoring of cropped areas allows more targeted and eco-sustainable control strategies,…

Unità di coordinamento e potenziamento delle attività di sorveglianza, ricerca, sperimentazione, monitoraggio e formazione in campo fitosanitario (URCoFi)

Globalization is a phenomenon that shows its effects also in the phytosanitary field, favoring the introduction and diffusion of new organisms harmful to the plants. To give rapid technical-scientific answers to the growing phytosanitary problems deriving from globalization, especially for regulated and newly introduced harmful organisms, it was considered useful to activate an institutional collaboration between the Campania Region and various scientific institutions. This collaboration is aimed at the joint execution of common tasks governed exclusively by the public interest in compliance with the legal competencies, in particular: for the…

Innovazione Tecnologica e Ambientale per la gestione dei trattamenti nella viticoltura eroica (ITACA)

In Italy, high-quality vines are frequently grown in small fields with slope steeper than 5–10%, where an air-blast sprayer is impractical. For this reason, spray-gun application of pesticides is used, a technique that is very costly and labour intensive, and that causes high pesticide exposure of the operators. A possible alternative is the use of fixed spraying systems. Two fixed spraying systems were in vineyards in Valdobbiadene and Soave with the aim to evaluate the spray drift deposition pattern, the crop protection performances and the pesticides residues on grapes. Results…

2018-A-289 Plant Health Bioinformatic Network (PHBN)

In the last decade, High-Throughput Sequencing (HTS), also referred to as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), has revolutionized biology and medicine. The technology allows DNA and RNA sequencing data to be generated in huge amounts at a very low cost, enabling the parallel processing of many samples. The resulting large amounts of data have led to the blooming of a relatively new field: computational biology or bioinformatics. In medicine, NGS-based tests for disease diagnostics are becoming part of routine practice, and plant disease diagnostics seems to follow this path, with virology…
