Marika Rossi

I am developing new molecular markers for the study of the phytoplasma responsible of the grapevine Flavescence dorée. My aim is to better understand the epidemiology of this serious disease with the ultimate goal to contain effectively its spread on the Italian territory.

In the past years, I studied various aspects of virus-host interaction,  in particular:

  • Role of autophagy in the mycovirsus CHV1 replication in infected fungus Cryphonectria parasitica.
  • Characterization of Ourmia melon virus coat protein and biological meaning of plant cell nucleolar targeting during viral infection
