Roberto Danti

My studies currently concern the effect of biotic stress on the functionality of woody plants and on the defense mechanisms activated by the host at morpho-physiological, biochemical and genetic level. Main research themes:
- control of pathogens through innovative and sustainable methods;
- genetic and pathogenic variability of fungal parasites of woody plants;
- host-pathogen interaction;
- conservation of biodiversity of host and pathogen;
- breeding and selection of resistant genotypes.
Since 2007 coordinates the breeding program of cypress and the transfer of the acquired technological innovation in the following themes:
- use of selected lines to protect the environment, improve quality of production, reduce the allergenic impact of trees due to pollen emission, support to the rural economy;
- cure and restoration of trees with historical, monumental and landscape value;
- in situ and ex situ conservation of tree species;
- recovery of degraded sites;
- training.
