Francesco Nugnes

• My research interests are focused mainly on issues concerning the Biological and Integrated Control of harmful insects to crops and forestry, in particular about biosystematics and phylogeny of parasitoid and their associated hosts. Specific characterization involves a multidisciplinary approach: morphometric, morphological and biological studies. The latter concern the hosts complex, reproductive modalities, identification and localization of symbionts involved in the wasps asexual reproduction, molecular phylogenetic and karyological analysis. These activities are related to: Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Eulophidae and Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Mymaridae. Currently I’m studying: Leptocybe invasa, Quadrastichus mendeli, Baryscapus silvestrii, Thripobius javae, Neochrysocharis formosa and Anagrus sp.
• Furthermore I’m involved in activies about biology and enemies of alien species like Dryocosmus kuriphilus, Tuta absoluta, Rhagoletis completa and Coptodisca sp..
• Since 2012 I’m involved both in monitoring and in developing non-invasive diagnosis techniques for Aromia bungii (e.g. frass analysis).
