PROTECTION

PROTECTION project aims: creation of innovative products, services and technologies to be applied in agriculture to promote the use of biological control and sustainable defense strategies. General objectives: Selection and application of novel natural bioformulates (i.e. based on microorganisms, or plants extracts) to improve crops production. The implementation of appropriate methods for assessing the persistence of bioformulates. The development, design and application of new diagnostic systems for the qualitative improvement of agro-food productions. The application of plasma technologies to horticultural seeds for surface disinfection and performance improvement. PI: Francesco Vinale…

BatRam: Diagnosi di Batteri fitopatogeni mediante spettroscopia Raman e machine learning

The Bat-Ram project plans to apply Raman spectroscopy to rapidly characterize and identify plant pathogenic bacteria, e.g. Pseudomonas syringae, Xanthomonas campestris, Erwinia amylovora, agents of serious bacteriosis on actinidia, bean and pome fruit crops. The technique will be validated on other bacterial species and on various isolates present in the IPSP-CNR collections and in the Piedmont Phytosanitary Services, as well as on new isolates from material collected in the field. The proposed technique will also be useful for rapidly evaluating the in vitro efficacy of antibacterial treatments, opening new avenues…

Moine Amedeo

RESEARCH FELLOW amedeo.moine(AT)ipsp.cnr.it publications: Orcid personal details and research activity: People Curriculum Vitae My research activity is focused on the study of plant (grapevine in particular) responses to environmental stresses. In particular, I study the physiological, metabolic and molecular mechanisms controlling the response of woody and herbaceous plants (Vitis vinifera, Corylus Avellana, Solanum lycopersicum and Actinidia deliciosa) to biotic and abiotic stresses, in order to introduce innovations in current agronomic practices. In detail, I set up dedicated protocols to carry out water stress trials on woody and herbaceous species, by analyzing…

RESEARCH FELLOW paolo.mussano(AT)ipsp.cnr.it publications: Orcid personal details and research activity: People Curriculum Vitae I graduated in plant biotechnology at the University of Turin, I spend a period abroad at the University of Liege for my MS thesis. There I worked on fusarium wilt disease in banana (with the Sukali Ndizi varity), studying the endophytic root microbiome with NG sequencing techniques to identify BCAs that could be used against the disease development. Afterward I worked at CREA-OF (Consiglio per la Ricerca in Agricoltura e l’Analisi dell’Economia Agraria, Centro di Ricerca in…
