Curriculum Vitae

Studies on the use of alternative means of control to chemical of post-harvest rotting of fresh fruit and vegetables. In particular, with physical means (thermal conditioning, electrolysed water, ozone), biological means (yeasts and bacteria), natural substances (chitosan, extracts of vegetable and animal origin, phenolic substances) and organic and inorganic salts for f integrated pest management, which have found application both in the field and in post-harvest. Use of traditional and molecular techniques for the diagnosis and quantification of phytopathogens. Study of resistance mechanisms in the host induced by various elicitors (physical means, antagonistic microorganisms, salts, natural substances, protein hydrolysates) through the study of enzymes involved in this process. Application of molecular diagnostic techniques for the identification of Xylella fastidiosa in plant and vector insects.
