Alessio Vovlas received a Ph.D. in Science and Technology from Turin University, Italy, in 2014 with a thesis on “Evolutionary Biology and Biodiversity Conservation,” and an MS in Natural Science from Bari University, Italy. He is a member of the Society for Conservation Biology, Societas Europaea Lepidopterologica (SEL) and European Society of Nematologists (ESN). He is also part of the membership committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Commission on Education and Communication (CEC). Dr. Vovlas’ main research interests are molecular biology, ecology, zoology, science communication, and education. He has published several scientific, national, and international publications and was a coordinator of some nature conservation and citizen science projects in natural park areas.
