The Italian herbicide resistance working group includes representatives of public research, academia, advisors and agrochemical companies that have active ingredients directly or potentially affected by herbicide resistance in Italy.
The main goal is to improve cooperation and communication between public researchers, industry and involved stakeholders in order to monitor the evolution of herbicide resistance all over the country and efficiently communicate resistance management strategies.
The communication of the group’s activities is mainly done through a dedicated website (www.resistenzaerbicidi.it) which was created in 2010. It includes general information on resistance, descriptions of weed species affected by resistance, general and specific guidelines for resistance management in different crop systems, an application that allows to interactively create resistance risk maps, bibliography and “news” section.
