Research activities, were focused mainly on the identification and selection of soil pest biocontrol agents by conventional microbiology and molecular approaches and on the potentialities of their application in products for sustainable plant growth and environmentally pest management. Recent studies on soil microorganisms were conducted through metagenomic analysis of bacterial and fungal communities associated with the phytoparasitic nematodes. Also, studies were conducted on plant- pathogen- biocontrol interactions through transcriptome analysis in order to evaluate molecular mechanisms involved in the plant – microrganims interaction under different trophic or stress conditions.
