Curriculum Vitae

We are interested in how plants perceive external challenges and respond appropriately to biotic and abiotic stresses.
In particular, we are focusing on functional long and short RNAs that perceive infectious entities -derived or endogenous patterns to activate RNA-silencing based defense responses.
In addition, we are interested in the identification such patterns in order to describe and preserve the plant biodiversity and to support the application of novel biotechnologies for crop protection, i.e. by to improving disease resistance or boost defences.
We are addressing these questions using a combination of molecular, synthetic biology, biochemistry, imaging, on in planta or in yeast etherologous systems.
