Curriculum Vitae

Graduated in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies at the Department of Agriculture of the University of Naples Federico II with an experimental thesis carried out in Phytovirology entitled: “Viruses and viroids associated with symptoms of incompatibility of grafting in apple trees”. During my thesis work I acquired skills in the use of serological and molecular diagnostic methods in plant virology, of the main genomic banks for the extrapolation of information on the genome of a virus, of laboratory instrumentation applied to the diagnosis of phytoviruses. During my internship, carried out in the Phytovirology laboratory, I had the opportunity to use and interpret the data derived from the comparison between viral genomic sequences and from the development of phylogenetic trees obtained through the use of bioinformatics software tools.
During various work activities I carried out monitoring of the main phytophages of stone fruit and pome fruit with the use of pheromone traps and chromotropic traps combined with the shaking method (frappage) of the flowers to ascertain the presence of thrips. I also used traps with “Attract & Kill” technology for Ceratitis Capitata and installed pheromone diffusers to disorientate Cydia Molesta.
I am currently a research fellow at CNR-IPSP in Portici (NA), as part of the URCoFi research project, with the aim of strengthening surveillance, research, experimentation, monitoring and training activities in the phytosanitary field.
