GRAPEVINE AI ASSISTANT

The system proposed in this project consists of a Cloud-based web platform for monitoring the health status of vineyards. It includes an Artificial Intelligence module trained to detect the presence of the Flavescence dorée phytoplasma (FDp) and its vector, Scaphoideus titanus, through the analysis of leaf images. The AI is trained via a simple web interface and an automated Machine Learning process. The platform provides interactive dashboards to visualize the vineyard’s health status in real time, offering 2D and 3D reconstructions of the field and the ability to compare data collected…

ASSOCIATE publications: Orcid personal details and research activity: People Curriculum Vitae The spittlebug Philaenus spumarius L. (Hemiptera : Aphrophoridae) is the main vector of Xylella fastidiosa in Europe and, in particular, in the Apulia Region to olive trees. The efficiency of the vector in transmitting Xf is relatively low, but its abundance and the massive movement of the adult stage between the canopies of trees, and olive trees in particular, have made this insect capable of spreading the bacterium very quickly. Previous surveys have shown the prevalence of infected insects…

ASSOCIATE publications: Orcid personal details and research activity: People Curriculum Vitae I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris, where I am involved in the HerbaSoil project, which investigates the impact of intensive agriculture on soil microbial biodiversity through an innovative paleogenomic approach. My work focuses on the extraction and sequencing of ancient microbial DNA from soil samples preserved in herbarium collections. The resulting data are compared with modern soil samples and analyzed using bioinformatic tools, with the aim of reconstructing how soil microbial…

SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER 011.397.7962 publications: Orcid personal details and research activity: People Curriculum Vitae I graduated in Plant Biotechnology from the University of Turin in 2025. For the writing of my master’s thesis, I studied the application of RNAi for the control of Scaphoideus titanus, a vector of Grapevine flavescence dorée phytoplasma. This project involved insect breeding, the selection of potential target genes to be silenced, the synthesis and microinjection of dsRNA molecules. Finally, gene silencing was verified by RT-qPCR. I gained additional laboratory experience through curricular internships: the first as…
