Curriculum Vitae
I’m graduated in Agro-Environmental and Food Biotechnology at the University of Naples Federico II with a thesis in General and Applied Entomology entitled: “Role of Aphidius ervi venom in host regulation”, carried out at the “E. Tremblay” entomology laboratory (Department of Agriculture – Portici, NA). During this work I had the opportunity to use a reverse genetics approach, based on the RNA interference (RNAi) technique for the functional characterization of an aphid parasitoid venom protein, having the opportunity to acquire skills regarding the main molecular biology techniques such as: Extraction of DNA and RNA from insects, quantification of extracted DNA and DNA amplification by PCR, RT-PCR and Real-time RT-PCR. I am currently a fellow at the IPSP, as part of the URCoFi research project, with the aim of studying the main phytosanitary emergencies concerning the introduction and spread of invasive phytophagous species, enhancing their monitoring and identifying eco-sustainable control applications to counteract them.
