Curriculum Vitae

I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and subsequently a Master’s degree in Experimental and Applied Biology from the University of Salento. After completing my academic studies, I carried out a two-year research activity as a research fellow at the Botany Laboratory of the same university. During the first year, I took part in the FishRISE project, which focused on aquaponics, a technique that combines aquaculture and hydroponics. In the second year, I contributed to the development of the AWARE project, also aimed at optimizing closed-loop aquaponic systems. My research activities primarily involved: analyzing the efficiency of biofilters in removing nitrogen compounds in aquaponic systems; maintaining, managing, and monitoring hydroponic systems, with particular attention to the physico-chemical parameters of water (pH and electrical conductivity); preparing plant samples for morphological and biochemical analyses; conducting morphological and functional characterization of plant species grown under controlled conditions, including the evaluation of growth parameters.
