Curriculum Vitae

Currently, I hold the position of research fellow in the 1LIVEXylella project, where I focus on developing new protocols for the in situ identification of the pathogen Xylella fastidiosa.

Previously, after earning my degree in Plant Medicine (Agricultural Sciences and Technologies) in 2021 with a thesis on the biocontrol of the pathogen Ophiostoma novo-ulmi using nutrient-competing microorganisms, I pursued a joint PhD between the University of Florence and the Université de Haute-Alsace in France. During my PhD, I studied the wood degradation mechanisms of white rot agents of the Esca Complex of Diseases, particularly those belonging to the genus Fomitiporia. Specifically, in addition to measuring the ability to produce lignocellulolytic enzymes typical of these agents, I evaluated the capacity to perform a non-enzymatic degradation mechanism in a collection of white rot agents from various viticultural regions around the world.
