Interessi di ricerca:

- Studi molecolari sulle interazioni ospite-patogeno, con particolare riguardo al sistema pianta- fitoplasma.
I fitoplasmi sono agenti patogeni di notevole impatto economico di importanti colture ed innumerevoli specie vegetali. L’intento è individuare i meccanismi di infezione dei fitoplasmi, cosi come i sistemi di difesa delle piante, tramite approcci di proteomica, transcrittomica e genomica comparata. Tra le diverse fitoplasmosi in studio, particolare attenzione è rivolta alla Flavescenza dorata della vite.

- Diagnosi patogeni vegetali
Nanotecnologie applicate alla fitodiagnostica. Sviluppo di nuovi metodi di diagnosi per fitoplasmi. Competenze in tecniche di biologia molecolare applicate alla caratterizzazione di patogeni vegetali.
