Laura Miozzi

Nel Dottorato mi sono occupata delle basi molecolari dell’interazione tra il fungo micorrizico Tuber borchii e il cisto e, in seguito, della biodiversità microbica in suoli di tartufaia e di quella di funghi endofiti delle orchidee.

Ho cominciato ad occuparmi di bioinformatica nel 2004, presso il gruppo di bioinformatica del Dip. di Genetica, Biologia e Biochimica dell’Univ. di Torino, lavorando sullo sviluppo di metodi di data-mining per l’annotazione funzionale genica.

Dal 2006 lavoro come bioinformatico, presso l’IPSP, dove studio le basi molecolari dell’interazione pianta-virus, con approcci di trascrittomica (microarray) e next generation sequencing, con particolare riguardo al ruolo dei piccoli RNA. I sistemi biologici su cui lavoro sono pomodoro/TSWV e pomodoro/TYLCSV. Ho inoltre sviluppato un approccio bioinformatico per l’annotazione funzionale dei geni di pomodoro, basato sulla co-espressione conservata. Collaboro inoltre con il Dip. di Biologia Vegetale dell’Univ. di Torino, per valutare l’effetto della micorrizazione sulla risposta della pianta ai virus.
