LINFA aims to develop different activities and innovative services ranging from plant protection to the increase of competitiveness within all the chain, both in production and processing phases, with particular attention to food safety. The research activities, which have been developed within the project proposal, aim to improve the protection of relevant crops in the field through the production and release of new formulates based on beneficial microorganisms and bioactive metabolites.

Moreover, the Partnership will be involved in the creation of new functional products based on bioactive metabolites obtained from olive field. Such formula may be considered as functional ingredients to be used in different sectors, such as nutraceuticals and cosmetics.

Finally, in relation to the growing interest of world consumers in product quality and healthiness, the LINFA project intends to promote the food safety through the identification and the physical, chemical or biotechnological reduction/degradation of anthropic contaminants (above all pesticides and their catabolites) and non-anthropic contaminants (i.e. mycotoxins).
