Curriculum Vitae
My main research activity is focused on studying the mechanism of plant acclimation to salt stress in cucumber (in vitro and in vivo studies) – changes in primary carbon and nitrogen metabolism, as well as in the pro- and antioxidant system. Additionally, I am also interested in the role of nanoparticles in: response of plants to abiotic stress in cytologycal, physiological, biochemical levels as well as production of secondary metabolites, especially in Taxus x media and Rindera graeca.
I graduated in biology (2005) – specialization in physiology, at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection at the University of Lodz (2005) and PhD (2010) at the same university – specialization in plant physiology. During my Ph.D. study, I was a scholarship holder of the LLP-Erasmus at the Department of Horticulture, International Laboratory of Plant Neurobiology, University of Florence.
Currently, I am working on the project: ‘Plants talk, but do they listen? Unveiling plant responses to incoming (foreign) volatile organic compounds (Fore-VOC)’ with Susanna Pollastri (tutor) and Francesco Loreto (principal investigator).
