Curriculum Vitae
I hold a Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies with a specialization profile in “Sustainable Agricultural Production” from the University of Naples Federico II. During my graduate studies, I conducted an experimental thesis entitled “The Role of Beauveria bassiana as an Endophyte of Tomato in Multitrophic Interactions with the Pest Spodoptera littoralis.” Through this research experience, I developed integrated multidisciplinary competencies ranging from the cultivation and management of entomopathogenic microorganisms, including inoculation techniques and assessment of endophytic colonization, to the rearing and experimental management of the noctuidae moth Spodoptera littoralis. I also acquired proficiency in molecular biology techniques, particularly RNA extraction and gene expression analysis by qRT-PCR on plant and animal matrices.
During an experimental internship conducted at the University, I had the opportunity to consolidate these skills by applying them to the study of plant-insect interactions through the design and management of hydroponic cultivation systems in controlled environments. Specifically, I worked with tomato plants under salt stress conditions, evaluating the effects of these treatments on Spodoptera littoralis through feeding bioassays while monitoring insect growth and survival rates.
