Curriculum Vitae

I obtained a Master’s Degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Turin. Subsequently, I participated in an Erasmus Traineeship in Austria at the Department of Limnology in Innsbruck, where I worked on the study of physical, chemical, and biological parameters of Alpine inland waters.
Afterwards, I worked at the IPSP of the National Research Council (CNR), at the Legnaro branch, as a research fellow. During this experience, I was involved in two main research projects aimed at developing innovative and environmentally friendly applications to reduce the use of chemicals in agriculture and to address the issue of resistance development.
In the first project, we evaluated, through germination tests, the inhibitory effect of a fungal protein on the germination of monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous seeds. A significant inhibition was observed only for the species Lolium multiflorum; however, further studies and plant-based experiments will be necessary to better understand the potential applications of this fungal protein.
The second project focused on studying, through dose–response assays, the efficacy and environmental sustainability of nanoencapsulated herbicides compared to free active compounds. The analyses showed that nanoformulations exhibited higher efficacy, likely due to the controlled release of the herbicide over time, as well as reduced soil leaching capacity, resulting in a lower environmental impact.
