Curriculum Vitae

Graduated with a Master’s degree in “Viticulture and Enology” from the University of Turin, my scientific background is focused on grapevine genetic improvement, with particular attention to the molecular mechanisms involved in response to biotic and abiotic stresses and adaptation process.
During my studies, I developed advanced technical expertise in the main molecular biology methodologies applied to Vitis vinifera.
Throughout my Master’s thesis research, I investigated somatic embryogenesis as a genetic improvement approach aimed at enhancing grapevine adaptability to multiple stresses. My research activity focused on the in vitro culture of embryogenic calli subjected to selective pressures in order to generate potentially more resilient somaclonal lines. In parallel, I analyzed the molecular responses associated with priming phenomena, integrating gene expression data with targeted statistical analyses.
During my practical internship within the framework of the European project “Shield4Grape”, I contributed to the molecular characterization of grapevine accessions resilient to fungal pathogens through SSR marker analysis.
Previously, at the University of Perugia, I contributed to the molecular characterization of local grapevine varieties using SSR markers and to the valorization of the local germplasm.
