Curriculum Vitae
I am graduated in Science and Technology of Animal Production at the University of Naples Federico II. During the period spent at the University and at ISPAAM-CNR, I carried out different experimental activity focalized on “Animal Nutrition and Feeding”. Specifically, my research activity was focused on the study of the Italian Mediterranean Buffalo feeding, particularly on how its diet affected the production of waste products, such as nitrogenous substances. The methodological approach was based on the realization of chemical-nutritional analyses of livestock feeds both with the traditional Weende and Van Soest methodologies and also with an innovative method based on near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR). I am currently a research fellow in the “REACH-XY” project. My research activity aims to deepen the knowledge on the interaction between the vector of Xylella fastidiosa, the insect Philaenus spumarius, and the endosymbiont bacterium Wolbachia. In particular, to evaluate the impact of Wolbachia on host fitness and its role as a causative agent of reproductive manipulations, e.g. cytoplasmic incompatibility.
