For the 2026 European Researchers’ Night, as part of the STREETS project (Science, Technology And Research For Ethical Engagement Translated In Society)
on Friday 25 September 2026
researchers from the IPSP Portici branch—in collaboration with the Creo-Cnr scientific outreach network (Campania REteOutreach)—will offer activities in both Naples and Portici. Both events are aimed at a broad audience, including primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary school students, families with and without children (ages 6 and up), and anyone interested in the topic!

Naples, Piazza Dante, 18:00-23:00
I Detective della Natura (curated by Maurilia Maria Monti and Antonella Maietta)
A hands-on sensory and educational workshop designed to introduce the world of botany in an interactive way. The activity features two games: the first stimulates the sense of smell through a blind recognition of aromatic herbs and their scents; the second challenges sight and logic with a practical matching game between seeds and their corresponding plants or plant parts. An engaging journey to discover the origins of what we eat using our senses.
Portici, Dipartimento di Agraria, 18:00-23:00
Impollinatori e Servizi ecosistemici (curated by Gennaro Di Prisco, Roberta Santopietro, Viviana Valenzano, Flavia Vittoria Chianese, Sabatino Rambaldi, Luca Trapanese)
The main groups of wild pollinators (bees and butterflies) will be presented in entomological display cases and through live specimens. Their morphological adaptations for pollen transport will be illustrated, together with the assessment of ecosystem services using remote sensing technologies.
